Michael Martin Murphy's cowboy logic: I have to admit I'm the kind of guy that is always looking for shortcuts. Problem is they seem to take me longer than the regular routes. My dad, wanting to help me out of this dilemma, told me "son: the shortest way, is always the way you know how to get there." My dad never said a lot, but what he said always made sense. I think of him whenever Murph sings this song, and the men like him who may not put things into fancy words or fluorescent speech; they just get the job done. -the RED
